06/10 Don't Miss "Get Informed: Tallahassee.com"

Join NYP and the Tallahassee Democrat for an informal evening of food, fun, games and prizes, as the tallahassee.com staff introduces us to the new and upcoming social networking aspects of their recently enhanced Web site, which will soon be interactive with Facebook. Enjoy beer, wine and appetizers while learning how to create your own tallahassee.com profile and begin building your network. You will be able to explore the site's features on various computer stations, or you may bring your own laptop. The best part? It's completely free!

United Way of the Big Bend’s For Young Leaders Only Society and the Network of Young  Professionals Invite you to an informative and engaging lunch series called Connect YP.  The goal of this program is to present endless possibilities to young professionals about why they think Tallahassee is a great place to live, work, play and stay.

This Connect YP event will be held on Wednesday,  June 11th, 11:30 a.m. at The Tallahassee Center at Kleman Plaza. The speakers for this event will be Peter Boulware, Former NFL Player and Kamilah Prince, Volunteer Florida. Come listen to why these individuals feel that young professionals should stay in Tallahassee . The featured agency will be Brehon Institute for pregnant and homeless families.

Lunch will be provided by MAD About Foods and will include casserole, salad and drinks.

Registration for this event is $10 per person. Please contact Charee Williams at 488-8325 to register.

535 Happy Hour (monthly event)
The Network of Young Professionals organizes "535 Happy Hours” on the first Wednesday of each month at different locations.

NYP Scavenger Hunt
Last year the theme of our annual scavenger hunt was “Finding Paradise” and it took place on Saturday, June 25. 
The competition began at Lake Ella where teams were given their official PARADISE PASSPORT and clues list.  Clues took teams to the hottest spots in Tallahassee where they collected stamps for their passport book.  The team with the most passport stamps won.  The grand prize was a 2-3 day trip for everyone on the winning team.  The event conclude with an after party and awards ceremony at Paradise Bar & Grill.

Each year, we will organize a community wide scavenger hunt to showcase the coolest, neatest, best things about Tallahassee.

Hometown Hoedown @ TheTallahassee Museum
The Tallahassee Network of Young Professionals will host its “Hometown Hoedown” at the Tallahassee Museum on January 26. Get ready for this exciting event, which will feature live music by Public Address, catering by Cabannas Restaurant, drinks provided by Tri-Eagle, night-time tours of the museum’s animals (flashlight guided tours at 7 & 8 p.m.), living history on the farm, horseshoes and a great time for all. Don’t miss out on this evening of food, fun and networking.

Deck the Halls Winter Social and Art Sale @ The Challenger Learning Center The Tallahassee Network of Young Professionals hosted its annual Deck the Halls Holiday Social & Art Sale, featuring food, drinks, live music, local artists and reasonably priced artwork December 15 from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m.

Get Informed: Roundtable @ Hospitality Square 6 p.m.
Join the Tallahassee Network of Young Professionals as we host our first
Get Informed session to keep you up to date on the most important and controversial issues affecting the
Tallahassee community. The first of our roundtable discussions on October 10 will debate the controversial Taylor County Coal Plant. Speakers include City Commissioner Allan Katz and Kim Williams of Marpan Supply. You won’t want to miss this great opportunity to meet some of Tallahassee ’s key opinion leaders and learn more about how this issue will affect you.

Beertinifest @ Chez Pierre to Benefit The Red Cross
@ Chez Pierre , 5-9 p.m. $20 in advance; $25 at door: Ticket prices include beertini drinks and hors d’ oeuvres. There will also be a cash bar for other beverage purchases. Beertinifest featured a mixed drink tasting of Anheuser-Busch’s newest beverage concoctions, combining Anheuser-Busch products such as Amberbock, B to the E, Bud Light, Michelob Light and Michelob Ultra with a variety of popular mixers to create the most innovative cocktails around. Everyone had the opportunity to sample 18 of the best drinks on the market and take home the recipes for the ones they love. Additionally, there was food, live music, game tables and great networking opportunities. This event was a fun way to help out our neighboring hurricane victims, and proceeds went to benefit the American Red Cross Capital Area Chapter.

535 Happy Hour (monthly event)
The Network of Young Professionals is kicking off our first "535 Happy Hour” at Paradigm, Wednesday, July 6th at 5:35 p.m. No speakers, no program … we’re
all just getting together to have a few drinks and hang out. Please help us get
the word out ... forward this to your friends and co-workers. No membership necessary.  See you there! (Drinks will be BYOD).

Deck the Halls Winter Social and Art Sale
The Network of Young Professionals is hosting the 1st annual “Deck the Halls! Winter Social & Art Sale” on Monday, December 13 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Silver Slipper located at 531 Silver Slipper Lane (behind Staples on North Monroe St.). Peggy Brady, Executive Director of the Cultural Resources Commission, will be the guest speaker from 5:30 to 6:00 and will discuss “Tips for Buying Art.”  Food, drinks, live music, local artists, reasonably priced artwork … what could be more fun!

CRC Gallery Hop
Come and join your Network of Young Professionals for a night full of culture and art. Meet at Chez Pierre at 5:15 for drinks before hand. Then for only $5 hop on the Trolley for a guided tour of a multitude of galleries handpicked as most interesting for young professionals.  The tour will last from 6:15 – 9:15pm then return us to Chez Pierre where we can enjoy further network socializing.

Valentine’s Chocolate & Champagne Fundraiser

FSU Baseball Game
NYP will be meeting at the Sports Deli and going to a FSU baseball game. We will meet at the Deli at noon and then walk over to the game that starts at 1 pm. The cost for NYP members is $3 and the cost for non-members is $6. Event is free if you have a valid FSU Student ID. RSVP by March 17th if you need a ticket.
